Sugarbush opened in 1958 in the Mad River Valley, and by the 1960s it had earned an unusual nickname — "Mascara Mountain" — for the wealthy, fashionable New York crowd it attracted, complete with fur coats and a jet-set social scene that was unusual for a Vermont ski hill at the time. The resort later expanded across two connected peaks, and the Mad River Valley around it, including nearby Waitsfield and Warren village, has kept a quieter, more rural character than some of Vermont's more built-up resort towns. Trips to Sugarbush are often paired with a stop in Stowe, about 45 minutes north over the Appalachian Gap.
If you have clients or guests arriving into Boston Logan Int'l airport, Malden Car Service can arrange to meet and greet them, assist with their luggage, and transfer them directly to Sugarbush in one of our chauffeur-driven vehicles.
